This guide brings together 4 verses from the Bhagavad Gita on handling criticism and judgment, drawn from chapters 2, 6, 12 and 16.
The Gita teaches steadiness toward both honour and dishonour, praise and blame. Criticism still arrives — but it stops being the wind that decides your direction.

✦ Frequently Asked Questions ✦
What does the Bhagavad Gita say about criticism?
Krishna teaches that the wise are even-minded in honour and dishonour (14.25), unaffected by praise or blame (12.18–19), and steady when the world says yes and when it says no. Their direction comes from within, not from applause.
Which Gita verses are about handling criticism?
Gita 12.18–19 (equal in praise and blame), 14.24–25 (same in honour and dishonour), 6.7 (steady through opposites), 2.56 (free from craving for praise), and 18.10 (the wise neither hate nor cling) help.
How do I handle criticism using the Gita?
Receive useful feedback honestly and let the rest pass like weather. The mind that needs constant approval is fragile; the mind grounded in dharma is not.
